About Tlatehoy: An Archive of Contemporary Art

Tlatehoy is an archive of contemporary art related to Tlatelolco and the 1968 Student Movement in Mexico. In recent decades, the quality of artistic projects about the theme has been so exceptionally rich, from urban scale projects to subtle actions, poetry, music, installation, performance, theatre, video audio and public space interventions. The themes that catalyzed Tlatelolco’s identity are still valid, and are quite likely to remain so year after year. The Tlatehoy archive is a project that intends to grow in time as a free online space containing information about projects and artists while also including links to artist’s websites and other publications and social media they propose as relevant to each piece. Also, Tlatehoy is open to artist proposals, generating a natural growth of the archive.

Tlatehoy is a project by Ximena Labra with the support of Centro Cultural Los Pinos, MUAC and CCUT.
